# Setting Up Stripe Connect for Payouts

Connect your bank account to receive earnings from Fabric

## Overview

Fabric uses Stripe Connect to send payouts to device owners. You'll need to complete Stripe's onboarding to receive payments.

## Requirements

- Fabric account with enrolled device
- Earnings balance above the minimum payout threshold
- Bank account or debit card
- Valid ID for verification (required by Stripe)

## Starting the Setup

Log in to fabric.carmel.so

Go to Settings → Payouts

Click "Set Up Payouts" or "Connect Stripe"

You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure onboarding

## Stripe Onboarding Steps

Stripe requires:

**1\. Personal Information**

- Legal name
- Date of birth
- Address
- Phone number

**2\. Identity Verification**

- Government-issued ID (passport, driver's license)
- May require a selfie
- Automatic verification in most cases

**3\. Bank Account**

- Bank account number
- Routing number
- Or: Debit card for instant payouts

**4\. Tax Information (US)**

- Social Security Number or EIN
- For 1099 reporting if earnings exceed threshold

## Completing Verification

Most verifications complete within minutes. Sometimes Stripe needs more time or additional documents.

**If verification is pending:**

- Check your email for Stripe messages
- Log in to your Stripe dashboard if needed
- Upload any requested documents

**If verification fails:**

- Ensure information matches your ID exactly
- Try a different ID document
- Contact Stripe support if issues persist

## After Setup

Once connected:

- Your payout status shows "Active" in Fabric dashboard
- You can request payouts when you reach the minimum threshold
- Earnings are transferred directly to your bank

## International Payouts

Stripe Connect supports payouts in many countries. Available payout methods vary by region:

- **US:** Bank account, debit card (instant)
- **EU/UK:** Bank account (SEPA)
- **Canada:** Bank account
- **Australia:** Bank account
- **Other:** Check Stripe's supported countries

## Payout Timing

- **Standard:** 2-5 business days
- **Instant (where available):** Minutes (may have fees)

Timing depends on your bank and country.

## Updating Your Bank Account

Go to Settings → Payouts

Click "Manage Stripe Account"

Update bank details in Stripe dashboard

Changes take effect on next payout

## Troubleshooting

**"Verification required" message:**

- Complete any pending Stripe verification steps
- Check email for Stripe requests

**Bank account not accepted:**

- Ensure it's a checking account (not savings)
- Verify account is in your name
- Try a different account

**Payout delayed:**

- First payouts may take longer
- Bank holidays affect timing
- Check Stripe dashboard for status
