# Installing Fabric Agent on Windows

Installation guide for Windows 10 and Windows 11

## Requirements

- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
- 4GB RAM minimum (8GB+ recommended)
- Internet connection
- Administrator privileges (for Windows Service installation)
- Fabric account (create one at fabric.carmel.so)

## Download

Log in to your dashboard at fabric.carmel.so

Go to the Devices section

Click "Download for Windows"

Save the installer to your computer

## Installation

**Run the installer:** Double-click the downloaded file

**Accept UAC prompt:** Click "Yes" when Windows asks for administrator permission

**Follow wizard:** Complete the installation wizard

**Launch:** FabricAgent starts automatically after installation

**Windows Defender SmartScreen:**

If you see "Windows protected your PC":

- Click "More info"
- Click "Run anyway"

## First Run Setup

**Account:** Sign in with your Fabric account (Google OAuth or email/password)

**Windows Service:** The app installs a background service that runs 24/7

**Enroll Your Device:** Click "Enroll Node" to register your PC

Your hardware is automatically detected and your device is ready to start earning.

## Verifying Installation

**Check UI:** Open FabricAgent from Start menu

**Check Status:** Node status should show "Online"

## Firewall Configuration

The agent needs outbound internet access. If you have a firewall, allow `FabricAgentDaemon.exe` to access the internet.

## Troubleshooting

**Service won't install:**

- Run as Administrator
- Right-click the installer → "Run as administrator"

**UI shows "Daemon Error":**

- Restart your computer
- Open the Fabric Agent app

**Daemon not connecting:**

- Check Windows Firewall settings
- Verify internet connectivity
